3) Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes Detailed:
Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes contain about 2% of ThO2. It has much more advanced comprehensive welding performance than pure tungsten electrodes. Provides excellent resistance from weld pool contamination while at the same time offers the welder easier arc starting capabilities and a more stable arc. Thoriated Tungsten electrodes are the most commonly used tungsten material. Generally used for DC welding such as carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloy, titanium and copper.
